Retreat Speaker – Dr. Anne Jamieson

What better way to truly “taste and see the goodness of the Lord” than to focus on nurturing our faith? The September 2019 Women’s Fall Retreat will feature Dr. Anne Jamieson who is by vocation a wife and mother, by passion a cook and sometimes competitive baker, and by profession the Director of Catechesis for the Diocese of Hamilton, Ontario.

Dr. Anne will lead us through a series of talks: Recipe for Faith: Choosing and Using the Best Ingredients.

Dr. Anne says, “We have all been invited to the potluck. Now, what recipe to make? When we think of our response to the Divine Invitation as choosing our recipe for faith, we can consider what Choosing and using the Best Ingredients looks like. We’ll consider what is fresh, fragrant and abundant and how to pass that on to others.”

See you at the table – and maybe bring a friend! The 2019 Women’s fall Retreat promises to be good food for the heart, mind, soul and strength!

Breakout Session – Camino Talk

Join Sandy Laneville as she reflects on her journey of completing a Camino twice – once in 2015, and once in 2018. Sandy believes this is a journey anyone can do, and is excited to share all her adventures with the ladies of WFR 2019!

What is a Camino?

The Camino de Santiago is a network of pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the Apostle St. James The Great, in the cathedral of Santiago de Compestela, located in northwestern Spain. Tradition has it that the remains of  St. James are buried in the Cathedral. Hundreds of thousands of Christian pilgrims follow one of several routes, as a form of spiritual path or retreat for their spiritual growth. However, it is also popular with hiking and cycling enthusiasts and organized tour groups. Many consider the experience a spiritual retreat from modern life.
