Women’s Fall Retreat – Virtual Edition – From the Organizers of the Women’s Fall Retreat
Saturday, September 19, 2020 – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Join other women of faith for this exciting event, as the organizers of the Women’s Fall Retreat launch the 11th Annual Women’s Fall Retreat online. Be inspired through talks, prayer & song!
Women of any age are invited to join for the 11th annual Catholic Women’s Fall Retreat.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions the Women’s Fall Retreat organizers have had to reevaluate how everyone could meet and retreat together this September. As a result, this year they are offering a more condensed and virtual version (through Zoom) of the regular retreat participants have previously enjoyed. The Women’s Fall Retreat organizers cannot wait to see you online, in the comfort of your own home!
The planned “ Day of Recollection” will be held on Saturday, September 19th, from 9 am – 3 pm. You will be able to come and go throughout the day as you wish, with your device muted or un-muted.
The Speaker, Kathy McVady (a member of the Madonna House Apostolate, see bio below) will broadcast three, 30 minute talks on this year’s theme, “Come, rest a while”. There will be opportunity for personal reflection and group interaction in between the talks throughout the day. There will also be singing, and time for prayer.
As a registrant, you will also have opportunity to have input into the day’s events by posting comments or asking questions through Zoom chat. There will also be a prayer intentions mailbox that will be open for a few days before and after the day together. The day will finish with a communal liturgy of the Word, and singing together.
There is a $30 registration fee for participating in this year’s Day of Recollection. It is hoped that this year’s lower cost will enable many more people to join, so tell your family and friends! When you register for this event, please know that you will be prayed for each day by members of the Prayer team.
Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, the organizers are so excited to have you join them for this day of nourishment, healing for your soul, and fun for your spirit! Come and leave your cares and responsibilities behind, and allow the Lord to refresh you.
The feature speaker is Kathy McVady, a member of Madonna House Apostolate (Combermere ON), where she is living out her lifelong vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. Kathy has been involved in community focused religious education in Arizona, Roanoke, Virginia, Raleigh, North Carolina, and Barbados. As a frequent speaker, Kathy understands the power of, and need of resting when Jesus calls us, especially with how busy life can be and is excited to explore our theme of “Come, rest a while” together.
